Market Fountain

The fountain incorporates these symbols of the town:

• The tower represents the former refuge fortifications surrounding the church of St. Johannnis.
• The bear is a reminder of the bears that formerly roamed the forest.
• The two water courses allude to the European Watershed, which runs through the forest of Burgbernheim. The watershed divides the drainage areas of the Black Sea and the Atlantic via the Danube and Rhine rivers.

Every year the Fruit and Horticulture Club decorates the fountain for Easter. Eggs, painted and decorated with much detail, create quite an attractive display.
